Packaging: No more single-use plastic\ carrier and paper bags! Tesco goes bagless to help the environment

Tesco notifies customers that it has gone bagless on its single-use plastic and paper bags.

Tesco.com has now gone bagless. That means, from Monday 19 August, all home delivery or Click+Collect orders won’t be packed into single-use carrier bags.

This small change will help us wave goodbye to 250 million single-use plastic bags and 48 million paper bags a year.

More than half our customers have been opting for bagless orders for years, so our drivers are familiar with giving customers a hand; whether that’s helping you unpack at home or by helping you load your car at a Click+Collect point.

Thank you for shopping at Tesco

  1. Tesco said any deliveries ordered BEFORE the 19th could still be delivered with bags after that date and yet today mine was delivered without bags. I did initially send the driver away but it would have been hassle getting a refund so I called him back which at least showed me why I still want to use bags. All it means is that the 2 orders I had up to the end of my Delivery Saver are now cancelled and I’ve switched to Morrisons a couple of weeks earlier. The decision on bags should be down to the customer not the retailer
