In previous post, we learnt how to obtain colour palette from an image ( see the post and watch the video here). we decided to use it for a knitted baby blanket ( watch the video here, see post here).
Today’s post, we will be using this same colour palette for sugarcraft ( icing a cake). All cakes displayed, uses thesame colour palette.
Have fun with your colour palette.
Happy crafting!
1: Place uniced cake on a plate. Divide fondant into “two” portion ( one for covering the cake while the other is for decorating).
2: roll out fondant and smoothen with a fondant smoother
3: Brush cake with jam, little butter or buttercream icing ( this enables the fondant to stick to the cake). Cover the cake with the fondant, trim excess fondant off and smothen the fondant on the cake.
4: Divide the other fondant into three portion and add colouring to each portion. Knead the fondant to mix the colour.
5: Roll out, coloured fondant and with a flower cookie cutter, cut the floral shape in various colours. Put some of the flowers in an egg crate to create the cupped (dimension) flower. Also, cut out some floral shapes but leave them flat.
Roll out some ball shape from the fondant, using your palms. This balls acts as stamens.
6: Place little buttercream icing on the centre of flat florals and place the cupped florals on top.
Put some buttercream icing in the middle of cupped flower and place the fondant ball (stamen) in the middle of cupped floral.
Make a strip of fondant and place at the base of cake. This acts as ribbon.
