This July we’re welcoming back a familiar design challenge partner and saying “hello” to a brand new one! The STEM inspired challenge with our friends at Princess Awesome will have you twirling with excitement, and our second coloring book challenge with the coloring app Lake, will have you working up an appetite. We can’t wait to see where your designs take you this month.
Princess Awesome | Results Announced July 5
Princess Awesome makes clothes that honor all the amazing things girls love, from dinosaurs to sparkles, STEM to twirling, adventure to dress-up. Help the Princess Awesome team find the next design to be featured on their twirly dresses or comfy leggings by creating a repeating pattern that’s the perfect combination of clever, fun, and non-traditional for girls. Ask yourself: What’s missing from the girls’ section? Get to know more about Princess Awesome to inspire your design here! Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size: 21” x 18”. Submissions close June 26 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins June 28.
Emerald Forest | Results Announced July 12
Take a step into the deep wooded emerald forest. As you look around, imagine yourself surrounded by moss covered rocks and leafy ferns as oversized tree limbs canopy over you. Challenge yourself to create a repeating design that evokes the calming effect nature can have on oneself but don’t forget to include the rich shade of emerald in your design. Entries will be previewed as a Roostery Catalan throw pillow on the voting ballot. Submissions close July 3 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins July 5.
Medical Professions | Results Announced July 19
The doctor is in! This week we’re celebrating the medical professionals that are keeping us in tip-top shape. Will you find inspiration in the tools you might find in a doctor’s white lab coat or take a more holistic approach to your design? Whether you imagine your design on a pair of scrubs or waiting room wallpaper, we want to see your best repeats with a therapeutic touch. Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size: 21” x 18”. Submissions close July 10 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins July 12.
Circles Are the New Triangles | Results Announced July 26
Classic is making a comeback in a new and bold way! While a circle might be defined as a simple closed shape, your entry for this week’s challenge should be anything but ordinary. Will you go with a nod to mod, spots on dots on spots, or take a geometric twist on this traditional shape? Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size: 21” x 18”. Submissions close July 17 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins July 19.
Food Frenzy Coloring Book Design Challenge | Results Announced August 2
We hope you’ve worked up an appetite for the final challenge of the month! This week we’re welcoming back Lake, an interactive coloring app featuring a collection of vibrant coloring pages created by independent artists, for a second coloring book design challenge. Inspired by your favorite food, create a repeating design sure to curb your cravings. Whether your taste buds have you craving sweet or savory, remember to leave your bright colors behind because this challenge should only use black lines on a white background! Winning designs from this week’s challenge will be included in a special Spoonflower coloring pack on the Lake app. Find tips* for creating the perfect coloring book design and how the winning designs will be showcased on the Lake app here.
