At the AFCI Town Hall and Membership Discussion: The Impact of Virtual on August 27, 2020, AFCI leadership provided a highly-anticipated update on Creativation 2021. For those members who were unable to attend the town hall, and as a recap for those who did attend, we would like to share the following information.
Six months into the COVID-19 pandemic, the creative industries community is well aware of its effects. Our members – from independent retailers and large manufacturers to designers and digital content creators – have made difficult business decisions, strategized and adapted to fit new health and operation standards, and come together to support each other and their customers.
Like our members, AFCI is having to evaluate how we operate and deliver the resources you have come to cherish over the years – including Creativation. After long consideration, we do not see a way to safely and responsibly come together in-person this coming January. For that reason, AFCI has made the decision to host a virtual event in 2021.
We are excited about the opportunities this new avenue brings. AFCI is working hard to ensure that the virtual experience delivered in 2021 captures the spirit of Creativation and the business needs of the creative industries. We hope to bring together an expanded group of professionals and creatives, provide unique networking opportunities, and make Creativation 2021 another event to remember.
Look for future updates from us starting next month on what this virtual experience will look like, how to register, and the various ways to participate. For those of you have already committed to Creativation 2021 in some capacity – whether that be through hosting a workshop/business seminar, sponsorship, or exhibiting – a member of the AFCI staff will be reaching out with next steps.
