London Craft Week September 30 – October 10.
London Craft Week celebrates outstanding British and international creativity. This year explores under the bonnet of British craftsmanship with an exhibition of millinery inspired by the elegance and artistry that go into building a luxury Bentley motorcar. Curated by Rachel Trevor Morgan, Edwina Ibbotson and Noel Stewart, this showcase brings together work from the UK’s leading milliners, illustrating transferable techniques and inspiration.
For the duration of London Craft Week, Unveiled is taking over the Berkeley Square windows of the Jack Barclay Bentley showroom – Bentley’s oldest retailer. One window displays the curator’s own designs, following a private visit to the Bentley Motors factory.
The remaining windows show the work of additional world-class British milliners – each one having been given the design brief of the inspirational Bentley brand. Visitors are also given an exclusive insight into the creation of each hat, with the tools and techniques used to make them presented on bespoke plinths. More details here.
Also on offer is the Studio Tour: Extraordinary British Millinery, where you can meet four milliners making unique, distinctive and often spectacular hats. Featuring leading milliners Judy Bentinck and Karen Hendriksen alongside exciting new voices in millinery, Elise Gustilo and Lily Pouzet. More details here.
