Here’s what is in the latest issue
Issue 217 celebrates Capcom’s arcade legacy with eight awesome collectible covers. We quiz the devs who were inspired by Capcom’s games and also chat to Capcom staff to learn about their personal arcade favourites.
In addition to our giant ten-page Capcom feature, we also look at the creation of the violent arcade game, Narc and examine every facet of Sega’s immense arcade sequel, Golden Axe: The Revenge Of Death Adder.
Other highlights of issue 217 include a behind the scenes look at the Laura Bow adventure series by Sierra On-Line and Wizkid, the quirky follow-up to Sensible Software’s Wizball.
PlayStation: Recreating A Lost Art looks at the developers who are obsessed with creating PlayStation-styled PC games, while our latest So You Want To Collect… guide focuses on Sega’s Master System. If you’re looking at building your own collection, this is a great place to start.
Pete Cooke chats to us about the evolution of his sci-fi hit, Tau Ceti, Brian Flanagan explains how he went from being a graphics artist at Ocean Software to making arcade games in Japan and we dissect the disgustingly good Zombies Ate My Neighbors as well.
We’ve got some great smaller features too, including pieces on Mega Man 2, Arkanoid,Ranma ½ Hard Battle, Rainbow Walker, Damocles: Mercenary II and the brilliant River City Girls. We even find time to review Sega’s Astro City Mini!
