A dazzling and graceful way to say “thank you” with a handmade gate-fold greeting card.

The printable used in this card; is from our March 2015 free spring bulb printable (available here).

Next project, we will be making an appealing envelope-box to co-ordinate this elegant handmade greeting card.

Materials needed

  • Scoreboard with scoring tool
  • Printed card stock A4: March 2015 spring bulb printable by Anino Ogunjobi
  • Plain cardstock 270gms : Green,pink,
  • Ribbon: organza 1/2 metre, yellow,
  • Gold peel off sticker,
  • Liquid glue- Uhu,
  • Paper-Guillotine or scissors,
  • 3D sticky foam pad

Materials for gate-fold greeting card

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1: Score pattern card (stripe with daffodil flowers) into an A4 gate-fold card using the scoreboard.

STEP 2: score the green card and the pink card, into A4 gate-fold and then cut the flaps/gate folds (this will be used for the front matting and layering of the patterned gate-fold card). Repeat for the seamless daffodils pattern cardstock.

STEP 3: Cut 5mm (horizontally and vertically) from the green flaps of the gate fold card. Cut 9mm (horizontally and vertically) from the pink flaps of the gate-fold card. Cut 12mm (horizontally and vertically)from the seamless daffodils pattern cards gate-fold flaps.

STEP 4: Glue the seamless daffodil gate-fold to the pink gate-fold flap and then glue to the green gate-fold flap. Glue to the front of the gate-fold card( daffodil with stripe card)

STEP 5: Cut a topper from the printed tag and topper cardstock,place glue at the back of the printed floral topper and glue to the pink cardstock. Trim excess cardstock leaving a little border around. Glue to the green cardstock and trim excess cardstock, leaving a little border as illustrated below. Place the gold peel off “Thank you”/sentiment’s sticker on the topper.

STEP 6: Place 3D sticky foam pad, at the back of topper (one side only; this enables the card to open) and glue to “only” the left of right gate-fold flap. Glue a blank topper to the inside of card (you can write a beautiful verse/insert).

STEP 7: Tie the ribbon around the card (Ribbons passes under the Topper with “Thank you” sentiment).
