The AccuQuilt 2016 Quilt Block Design Contest starts on March 18, and you have until April 8 at 11:59 p.m. CST to submit your winning design to the contest page! Get your family, friends, and fellow quilters in on the fun and ask them to vote for you beginning April 9 – April 22. There are $13,000 in total prizes waiting for you! The winning block design will be displayed on the AccuQuilt world headquarters building in Omaha, NE.

AccuQuilt is proud to welcome quilting guru Eleanor Burns as a special guest judge. She will assist the AccuQuilt management team in selecting the winning designs after the field is narrowed down to the top 10 designs – five will be selected by popular vote and AccuQuilt will select the remaining five. The winners will be notified on or before May 6, 2016.

To enter the AccuQuilt 2016 Quilt Block Design Contest, simply do the following:

  1. Design an original quilt block using AccuQuilt shapes. If you don’t have an AccuQuilt Fabric Cutter and want the sizes of the shapes, you can download the GO! Cutting Equivalents chart.
  2. Your design can be hand drawn, designed in EQ7, Adobe InDesign, or Illustrator.
  3. Upload an image of your block in .jpg, .gif, .tif, or .png format.
  4. Share with your family and friends and encourage them to vote for your entry April 9 – April 22

The prize packages include AccuQuilt shopping sprees, The Quilt Show Series DVDs, quilting retreat passes, an abundance of fabric, and much more! Additionally, the grand prize winner’s quilt block will be displayed on a 17-foot sign outside of AccuQuilt’s Headquarters for an entire year, so not only does the AccuQuilt staff get to see the winning design every day, but visitors who tour our facility will see it, too. Lastly, the winner will get two round trip tickets to Omaha and a 4-night hotel package.

See the grand prize winner from last year, Sherry Rose, with her winning design, “Rainbow Twinkle” below.

We hope you join in on the fun and submit your designs! Good luck to all of you!
