The International Millinery Forum will be held in Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia from 3-8 July 2016 and there are still places left on a few of the workshops, including the Fish Leather Workshop being run by British milliner Jane Fryers.
“I wanted to run a 12-hour fish leather workshop over 2 days so that the delegates would have time to get involved in the design process and make a hat using traditional millinery skills with this beautiful and unusual material,” says Jane. “I love the little beret block. It is much used, but it is a proper hat and making it requires many different techniques. I’m looking forward to seeing how every one in the class will create a unique design using the fabulous colours and textures of the various fish skins available.“
