It’s Your Time to Shine! Enter the 2018 Quilt Block Design Contest
You could be the star of our 10-Year Anniversary Celebration by winning the 2018 Quilt Block Design Contest, which kicked off today! All you have to do is submit your awesome original designs to www.accuquilt.com/block-contest/contest-home by July 31. From there, entries will be posted online and public voting begins. So, gather up your friends, family and fellow quilters to vote daily for your favorite design from Aug. 1 to Aug. 15.
No purchase is required to enter the contest, and it includes more than $15,000 in prizes from 17 sponsors across the fabric and quilting industries. The only thing you need to be sure of when you submit is that 1) your design uses AccuQuilt die shapes, and 2) it’s an original design (meaning it is not copied and is your own idea).
It’s also important to remember that this isn’t a physical quilt block you’re submitting – it’s a digital file. While you can still sew a quilt block and upload a photo of it, hand-drawn designs and designs made in computer programs will work just fine! Just upload them at www.accuquilt.com/block-contest/contest-home.
When it comes down to crunch time, the final 10 blocks will be viewed by honorary guest judge Eleanor Burns, a quilting celebrity who has collaborated with us on countless projects. She will work with our management team to decide the winners.
The Grand Prize winner receives an expenses-paid trip to AccuQuilt Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska as part of their fabulous prize package, which also includes an HQ Stitch 710 courtesy of Handi Quilter and quilting supplies from several other sponsors. While in Omaha, the winner will see their design unveiled on a 17-foot sign at the center of our 10th Anniversary Celebration.

Other contest prize packages include a Runner-Up prize, a Fan’s Choice prize and seven Honorable Mention prizes.
While the above prize winners won’t be named until after contest voting, we will be giving a little something away before voting even begins! If you submit at least one valid entry during the contest, you will be eligible to be randomly selected as a winner of $50 in AccuQuilt Rewards. This random drawing will occur weekly on every Monday through July 30, so be sure to keep submitting new designs throughout the contest!
