Asian Art Features at Westonbirt’s Winter Decorative Antiques Fair
Asian art and antiques will be a major attraction at The Cotswolds Decorative, Antiques & Art Fair at Westonbirt School, near Tetbury, Gloucestershire from 3 – 5 January 2020.
Exhibitor Andy Lambert (left) trades as Fu Ts’ang Lung Oriental Antiques and will be showing a range of artifacts, art and collectables acquired during his travels in China and Tibet. Many have religious theme, others are decorative items, useful household pieces and works of art. As Andy will explain, the interest in Asian art is currently very high as more pieces emerge from the region and collectors and decorators begin to appreciate
their appeal.
Also specializing in Asian art will be Paul Burnett of Paul Burnett Antiques & Interiors.
Among decorative pieces, Paul also shows rare Chinese earthenware and pottery figures of horses, camels and tomb attendants. Amelie & Melanie Caswell from Bristol specialize in smaller Japanese collectables including carvings and jewellery.
Featuring art and antiques specialists from across the UK, this popular winter fair is the place to buy everything from the most traditional antique pieces to the latest in decorative chic style.
Says organiser Sue Ede: ‘This is where people come to decorate and furnish their homes in their own personal style. The fair offers a special mix of decorative antique and 20th century pieces with fine art, collector’s pieces and personal items such as jewellery, silver, watches and vintage fashion.’
There will be many highlights, such as a fabulous range of 20th century decorative ceramics by Somerset designer Sally Tuffin, from Brian Ashbee Antiques;
vintage handbags and Hollywood style costume jewellery belonging to Twentieth Century Glamour and Modern British paintings from Granta Fine Art.
Specialising in decorative pieces will be Scandinavian by Design with Scandinavian furniture and lighting; King George Antiques, showing architectural salvage, furniture, mirrors, lighting and rugs; Paul Burnett Antiques & Interiors specialising in mirrors, lighting, antiquities and
decorative silver and accessories; John Reed-Smith
