Crafters Dictionary: Tuck Stitch

Our featured post from Crafters Dictionary is Tuck Stitch.

This is a textured stitch pattern in knitting that requires some needles of the knitting machine to be set in hold position on a numbers of rows while the knit-carriage passes in which the stitches on the hold-needles are not knitted when the knit carriage passes over them instead they are held in loops by the needles in hold-position and then the stitches on the hold- needles are knitted after the holding passes are complete.

One side of the tuck stitch pattern in knit stitch while the other side is in purl stitch.
