Three Months Craft Challenge: Quick and Delicious Chicken Pasties

A crafter must eat. I love snacking sometimes.  For this week’s craft challenge, I made Chicken Pasties.

Ingredients

Cooked chicken breast

Chicken casserole mix

Egg(optional for glazing)

Pastry dough- (Unsalted butter, plain flour, water)

Sunflower oil for frying the chicken breast

flour for dusting

Equipment

Frying pan or deep fryer

Pastry brush

Rolling pin and mat

Cutlery- Fork, Spoon

Blender- Mill

Oven

Baking tray

Baking paper

Step 1: Fry the cooked chicken breast and when it is ready grind in the blender mill. Mix the grounded chicken breast with the casserole mix and then add a little water to form a thick paste.

Step 2: Roll the pastry dough and then cut out circle shapes with the pastry cutter. Put the chicken filling on one side of the cut out pastry circle and then cover the filling by lifting the other side over the filling. Press the edges together with a prong on the fork or the handle of the fork for a different effect. Put the pasties on a baking tray that has a baking paper\ parchment.

Step 3: Whisk one egg. Apply the egg to the pastry using the pastry brush.

Step 4: Baking for 45 mins to 50 mins at 150 degree Celsius, middle layer of the oven.
