Announcing July’s Design Challenge Themes

Boy Wonder | Entries due by June 25

From the women who brought you Princess Awesome comes Boy Wonder, a clothing brand for boys that honors and reflects the full range of colors and themes boys love. Co-founders Eva and Rebecca believe that boys are not only strong and tough, but also sweet and cuddly and WONDER-ful. This is why Boy Wonder is asking the talented Spoonflower designer community to join in their design planning.

What have YOU noticed is missing from the boys’ section in mainstream department stores? Colors? Themes? Pattern design? Have you ever met a kid who doesn’t like to chase butterflies? Or make rainbows with prisms? Or use their dump truck to give their friendly stuffed animals a ride? Boy Wonder is looking for a design as unique as each little boy out there. The winning design, handpicked by Boy Wonder from the popularly voted top 50, will receive a $500 cash prize and be featured on a Boy Wonder product!

Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size: 21” x 18”. Submissions close June 25 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins June 27. Winners will be announced July 11*.

Limited Color Palette | Entries due by July 9

Have you been wanting to try out a new design technique, practice with playful patterns or finally give florals a try? In this week’s challenge, your palette may be limited but the theme is up to you!

When creating your dog-friendly design, be sure to think about the Spoonflower makers who are keeping an eye out for the pawfect print to feature on their handmade dog accessories like bandanas, collars, leashes and more!
