I am currently working on Season 1, Episode 1 of 12 Crafts of Machine Knitting, the technique of stockinet and garter Stitch, a focus on plain or solid coloured yarns used as a border design on knitwear.

The video will be divided into parts – digital and practical\ demonstration.

Part 1 which is the digital part of the video will be uploaded soon.

For this project, an extended needle bed of the Silver Reed LK150 or K360 knitting machine will be used due to the vertical knitting with asymmetrical style. Although this can be done on any flat-bed knitting machine, we are using the extended bed of the LK150 knitting machine because the size we are knitting is for an adult which will require more needles on the knitting machine.

If you desire the other styles except for the vertical stripe, then you can knit that on any flat-bed knitting machine of 200 needles.

DesignAKnit software will be used to chart the garment. Robin double knit(DK) yarns and Aldi double knit(DK) yarns will be used.

Large buttons will be needed too.

Until then, do select the colours of yarns you desire to use. Remember that the design can be in one or two colours. See the samples below.
